The game is set in a world filled with mysterious powers and strange ethereal beings called Salutors.

The year is 1905. Warsaw is under the rule of the Russian imperial czarism. Its population is diverse, consisting of various origins, beliefs, and worldviews, often with conflicting interests. Russian soldiers, Jewish merchants, Polish city dwellers, and others. Despite the circumstances, the city is a bustling metropolis where one can celebrate a lavish party with high society one day and be mugged in a dark alley in the Praga district the next. A city with grand dreams and expectations in one hand and dark desires in the other.

Wiktor Szulski, like every thaumaturge, possesses a gift and a burden. His gift is shared with his ancestors, and it is precisely family that compels him to return to the tumultuous Warsaw. There, Wiktor must face his destiny, which has always been tied to the search for supernatural beings and their hosts, known as Salutors. Only people like Wiktor can tame them, as they are capable of reading the secrets of the human soul and speaking with the Darkness, and he understands better than anyone that everyone has their demons.
