New map layer:

 Umbral Abyss. A shadowy domain of Corruption and Fear that threatens to consume the mortal realms. It includes new tactical combat maps, a dozen unique locations to explore and exploit, and new independent factions, the Umbral Dwellings populated by umbral demons. These abyssal inhabitants are corrupted creatures, dedicated to destroying the light and invading the realms. The abyss will harm units entering it, but immunity can be gained by purchasing the Minor Umbral Flesh Transformation from the Umbral Dwellings.

New type of Ruler:

ancient beings of terrible power, the Ancestral Sovereigns have been corrupted by the Umbral Abyss and can use a unique mechanic of summoning a Minion. Carve your path as an Ancestral Sovereign and decide whether to Dominate your enemies, Manipulate flesh, or wield wild Chaotic magic.

Cosmic Events System:

This new category of global events was designed to provide unpredictable and exciting effects. The happenings include 4 crisis mini-events called the Tribute of the Seasons, with new tactical maps, units, and mechanics. Completing these events will grant the ability to transform one of your heroes into a true executioner.

New Tomes:

● Tome of Tentacle: specialized in using tentacles to immobilize and damage enemies. Grants Constriction, a unique racial unit with tentacle arms.
● Tome of the Cleansing Flame: a tome for the forces of light to repel the darkness of the abyss! Summon Cleansing Flames to burn Heretics in battle while protecting the Faithful.
● Tome of Corruption: use your enemies' forces against them. Transform bonuses into penalties or steal them for your units. Create Evil Reflections of your enemy's units and transform your units into Shadow Explorers.
